About me
Hello!
My name is Cherry, and I am a Software Engineer with 4 years industry experience. I have a versatile background in software engineering, data science, and cloud technologies, and am ready to take on any role that I am passionate about. With a solid foundation from my experience in the EDGE Early Careers Program at DTCC, followed by my work in machine learning and data quality, I have developed a strong skill set in full-stack development, data pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud services.
At DTCC, I was part of the two-year EDGE Early Careers Program, where I initially worked as an Analyst, progressing to a Senior Analyst. During this time, I had the opportunity to rotate across three teams, gaining hands-on experience with technologies such as Python, Streamlit, Snowflake, Angular, Docker, Kubernetes, Chef, Autosys, Splunk, Jenkins, Git, and SQL/PostgreSQL. My exposure to diverse challenges, including full-stack development, infrastructure automation, and application security support, allowed me to develop a comprehensive understanding of building scalable, innovative systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Following the EDGE program, I continued with DTCC, splitting my time between the Data Science and Data Quality teams. As a Machine Learning Engineer and Data Scientist, I honed my expertise in model development, while my role in Data Quality involved streamlining ETL processes, building data pipelines, and creating reporting portals. Additionally, my time at Syniverse Technologies, where I worked on Big Data projects using Hadoop and Grafana, further broadened my understanding of large-scale data management. I also earned my CompTIA Cloud+ certification, which has given me a vendor-neutral understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Snowflake, and GCP.
I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science at Georgia Tech, with a focus on Machine Learning, maintaining a 3.66 GPA. Courses such as Analytical Modeling, Machine Learning for Trading, and Information Security have deepened my technical expertise while complementing my professional work. My upcoming courses, including NLP, Computer Vision, Graduate Algorithms, Deep Learning, and AI Ethics, will further prepare me for evolving industry challenges. Balancing work and my academic endeavors has sharpened my time management skills and fueled my passion for continuous learning.
My undergrad background in Cybersecurity from the University of Tampa has also equipped me with a strong foundation in secure system design and software security, ensuring that security is a priority in every project I undertake, not just as an afterthought.
I value diversity and inclusion and take pride in collaborating with people from various backgrounds and cultures. I speak English, Burmese, Tamil, and am currently learning Spanish, which has further enriched my ability to connect with diverse teams and perspectives.
I pride myself on being empathetic, resourceful, and an advocate for collaboration and mental well-being in the workplace. My values of innovation, adaptability, and teamwork, combined with my technical expertise, allow me to thrive in fast-paced environments while delivering meaningful results.
Please feel free to connect with me on Linkedin!
Sincerely,
Cherry Tin Latt
